Amazing in every way.

I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. I've always admired Selena so much. Her beauty and amazing talent touched many. She will forever be missed. I have been looking forward to reading this book for a while now. I didn't want to buy it at first because Selena & Chris' story hurts my heart so much. I couldn't imagine the heartache from that tragic incident, which SHOULDN'T have happened, and I'll never understand why. I just loved this book from start to finish. I can't thank Chris Perez enough for writing this so that Selena's fans could imagine what a beautiful life they had together, and truly see what an amazing person she was. The pictures in the book brought me to tears. Selena and Chris were so in love and the cutest couple on the planet.
Selena is such an inspiration. Her voice unlike anything ever heard, taken away for absolutely no reason. The book broke my heart and sewed it back together all in one. Chris moved on with his life, and that's really hard to imagine, moving on in life without someone you cared so much for, I can truly relate to his pain. After I read the book I couldn't help but keep thinking to myself what could have been. One thing I know for sure, the world would be a much better place if Selena was still here. A Genuine Memoir...

I loved Selena and loved her music (and all her albums are regular plays on my iPod). I was 12 years old when Selena was murdered and I still remember exactly where I was when the news broke and what an upsetting moment it was. So when MAC announced its Selena line, I immediately got excited and headed back down the path of Selena nostalgia, which included googling and stumbling across news of this book! A Selena book by Chris Perez?! How did I not know about this?! I immediately downloaded a digital copy and began reading.
This book is perfect for any Selena fan. This book not only introduces you to Selena the star, but takes you into Selena's world and by the end, you feel like Selena was your friend. Chris does not gloss things over - he writes about Selena, Abraham, The Quintanilla family, Yolanda, all with a sense of sincerity, honesty and transparency, all while being very respectful.
Knowing what happened to Selena, the book carries a constant sense of dread for the reader, only because you love Selena's relationships and life so much, you don't want to see it come to its shattering end (again). But this book is honestly a beautiful piece of work, a labor of love and a way for Selena fans to be placed into Selena's world for a short period of time. I loved being transported back to the 90s and the simplicity of that era I grew up in. I loved every bit of this, barring those last pages which made me cry all over again. RIP Selena - your spirit is still alive today.

Wonderful book!

I would give this book more than 5 stars if it let me. This book no doubts absolutely amazing. The way Chris speaks about Selena and their feelings towards eachother is just beautiful. I recommend this book 200%. Not only will it teach you about what a beautiful person Selena was inside and out, but it will teach you on how to not take life for granted. Wonderful job Chris Perez. RIP Selena.
